  • 2020: Museums and Galleries NSW IMAGinE Award for Innovation and Resilience.
  • 2013:  Museums & Galleries NSW IMAGiNE Award for audience development for special exhibition, “Vision4Change.”
  • 2012:  Museums & Galleries NSW IMAGiNE Award for audience engagement for special exhibition, “Ghosts of World War 1 – 101 local heroes.”
  • 2011:  Museums & Galleries NSW IMAGiNE commendation for special exhibition, “Nursery Rhymes Exposed.”
  • 2009:  Yamba Museum selected to host the Sydney Powerhouse Museum’s travelling exhibition, “Greening the Silver City.”
  • 2007:  Clarence Valley Council “Cultural Organisation of the Year.”
  • 2005:  Yamba Museum selected to host the Sydney Powerhouse Museum’s travelling exhibition, “Works Wonders.”
  • 2000:  National Bank Community Links Cultural Award for the Matthew Flinders Bicentenary Community Celebrations.

 

Recognition of individuals

  • 2012:  Port of Yamba Historical Society Research Officer, John McNamara was awarded an Achievement Award by the Royal Australian Historical Society for his research work and publications for the Port of Yamba Historical Society.
  • 2008:  Port of Yamba Historical Society President, Marea Buist was honored with an inaugural IMAGiNE individual Award for Excellence, by Museums & Galleries NSW.
