Port of Yamba Sesquicentenary celebration

No Comments on Port of Yamba Sesquicentenary celebration

This year is the sesquicentenary of the Port of Yamba works that transformed the estuary of the Clarence River from a dangerous river mouth full of shoals and shifting currents to a commercially navigable  channel.

The display in the Breakwater Room has been updated to commemorate the sesquicentenary.

A ceremony to celebrate this milestone will be held at the Yamba Museum on Saturday 1st December, 4-5pm in the Old Kirk. All are welcome but please ring the Museum on 6646 1399 for catering numbers.
