PYHS Access Statement

 

We aim to ensure that every visitor to Yamba Museum has an enjoyable experience.

We are committed to providing suitable access and facilities for all our visitors, whatever their individual needs.

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday

Vision

 

All Certified service animals are permitted.

No other animals are permitted inside Yamba Museum.

 

Animals can be tethered to seats under the shading trees of the garden.

Water bowls and dog bags are available.​​

Parking

There is a marked disabled space in the carpark.

The entry ramp to the museum building is 35m from the carpark,

along a level concrete path.

Front Desk Reception

 

Yamba Museum is located at 36 River Street Yamba – next to Yamba Golf and Country Club.

The Museum precinct areas are connected by level, concrete paths

with a concrete Yarning Circle as a feature of the Yaegl Cultural Garden.

 

The entrance to the museum is up a short concrete 9m ramp,

with wheelchair access through front doors that measure 1380 in width.

The flooring is level throughout the museum

Toilet Amenities

There are TWO wheelchair accessible toilets.

One toilet is designated for disabled, with grab rails, a blue coloured seat cover. The clearance around the wash basin is more than 1 metre and from the floor to the base of the vanity is 680 cm.

Quiet Spaces

 

There are TWO areas signed as quiet spaces:

  1. Yaegl Cultural Garden at the entrance

  2. Bench seats at the back of the main building, near the shed
